Dr. Ashatu Kijaji (MP), has conducted an on-site inspection of major tourism development projects at Ruaha National Park, directing the Tanzania National Parks Authority (TANAPA) to ensure all projects are completed on time and made operational to strengthen tourism growth in southern Tanzania. Dr. Kijaji made the remarks on December 18, 2025, during an official working visit to the park, where she inspected projects implemented under the REGROW programme. The projects include the construction of Kiganga Airstrip, a Visitor Information Centre (VIC), tourist cottages, and an Ecological Monitoring Centre. The initiative aims to increase the production of high-quality honey while improving the income of beekeepers. Officially opening the training for 30 carpenters drawn from five districts in Tabora and Singida regions, the Principal of the Tabora Beekeeping Training Institute, Semu Daudi, said the main objective is to equip carpenters with skills to produce quality beehives that easily attract bees to occupy and remain in them. He added that the training also emphasizes the use of locally available raw materials to reduce production costs.
